At North Knox Isshinryu we are a faith based karate school located in the Family Life Center of Dutch Valley Church of God. Our goal at North Knox Isshinryu is to train hard to strengthen our mind and body and lift the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ..

All of our classes are taught by 6th degree Master  instructor Gregg McMahan.

Gregg has 30 years experience in the Martial Arts. He is a long time instructor for Grand Master Pete Mills (Isshinryu) at Pete Mills Karate Schools. Gregg is currently the head instructor at  North Knox Isshinryu . He holds the distinction of being the most Senior ranking instructor as well as having spent the most time under Grandmaster Mills at Pete Mills Karate Schools as both student and instructor.

Mr. McMahan has also trained with  Master James Ogle Ku-Dan (Isshinryu), Master Ogle is Grandmaster Mills most senior student. He has also trained with the late Grand Master John Pachivas ( Shuri-Te). Master Pachivas was the father of Florida karate and at his death was the highest ranking Shuri-Te practitioner in the world.

Gregg has also trained with the late Grand Master Bill Klase ( Torasamado). For the last thirteen years he has trained in Michael De Pasquale Ju-Jitsu system. He  is currently training in the art of Russian Sambo.

Styles taught are Isshinryu, Ju-jitsu, Sambo, weapons, basic self defense and womens rape awareness classes.

I would like to thank everyone from The Halls, Karns and North Knox Dojo's for their continued support at our monthly combined training sessions. The response has been overwhelming as well as very positive. It's very good to see Grandmaster Mills still out on the floor working with all of us.

I want to welcome Master, Doyle Seiber and Sensei, Jerry Lewis to our monthly family workout's. These two men are a credit to Isshinryu and have developed some great students over the years. I look forward to working with both of these men for years to come.

Grandmaster Mills and Sensei Bowers have been working very hard at creating a series of Arnis techniques to put down on paper as added requirements for our students. We've had great response to Sensei's Bowers and Allan's Arnis seminars. These guy's are really working hard with several of our other Black Belts in Arnis training.
